  • Do you have any new insights?
  • Did you notice any patterns or trends?
  • Does anyone want to add anything else?

Provisions for the Journey

Purpose: This exercise gets everyone moving in the same direction.

Process:

  • Ask participants to select an image in response to the prompt.
  • Each participant then puts their image somewhere visible to the entire group and shares their selection (and why).
  • After each participant has shared, lead the group in a discussion to translate the images selected into a group list of what it needs to be successful.
  • This list can then be bulleted and written on a flipchart and posted for reference and inspiration throughout the session.

Prompt: What will you need to be successful in the session today?

Variant:

  • What will you need to be successful in the future around (the topic)?
  • What will the team need to be successful today/in the future?

Tips:

  • People will most likely not be able to find the pictures they want to describe an idea in their head. This is good; it provides an opportunity for thinking differently and creatively.
  • Break up into small groups if you don’t have enough time for each individual to share.
